Britz, maui and Mighty list their Hobart depot at 14 Long Street, Cambridge, beside Hobart Airport. You collect your vehicle at the depot, not at an airport counter. The brands differ in the vehicle sizes confirmed for Hobart, driver age rules and liability options. All three are brands of Tourism Holdings Limited.

Brand Hobart pickup and hours Sizes confirmed for Hobart Driver and licence rules Liability and excess
Britz 14 Long Street, Cambridge TAS 7170, about 400 m from the airport terminal. No airport transfer is provided. The branch lists daily hours; arrive at least one hour before closing. The Hobart branch page lists two-berth models, including Trailblazer, Maverick 4WD and HiTop, and the four-berth Voyager. It also lists 4WD vehicles. The page does not guarantee a particular model for your dates. Drivers of the other RV types must be at least 21 and hold a full licence valid for the booking. Show the physical licence. If it is not in English, bring an accredited translation or an International Driving Permit as well. Standard accident liability is included, but published Hobart terms do not state the standard excess or liability deposit. Optional reductions: nil liability for 2WD; for 4WD, A$750 per accident with High Road or Value Pack, or nil with Platinum Pack.
maui 14 Long Street, Cambridge TAS 7170, about 0.4 km from the airport and 18.8 km from Hobart city. The terminal is about a five-minute walk away. No airport or city transfer is provided. Published daily hours; arrive at least one hour before closing. The Hobart branch page confirms the depot but does not specify local berth sizes or models. Check the vehicle shown for your dates in the booking result. Drivers of the other RV types must be at least 21 and hold a full licence valid for the booking. The physical licence is required; a non-English licence also needs an accredited translation or an International Driving Permit. Published Hobart terms do not state the standard excess or liability deposit. The FAQ describes optional reductions to nil for 2WD and A$500 per accident for 4WD with High Road or Value Pack.
Mighty 14 Long Street, Hobart Airport Cambridge TAS 7170, about 0.4 km from the airport. The Hobart support page gives a daily cutoff for vehicle collection and return. Sunday service is for guests with a confirmed booking and a pre-arranged pickup slot. The official Hobart information does not confirm berth sizes or local model inventory. Mighty’s driver guidance names Highball and Double Down, but does not establish their Hobart availability or sizes. Drivers of Highball and Double Down must be at least 18 and hold a full, current licence. Other RV types have a general minimum age of 21. Show the physical licence; a non-English licence needs an accredited translation or an International Driving Permit. Published Hobart terms do not state the standard excess or deposit. Mighty’s liability guidance describes optional reductions to nil for 2WD and A$500 per accident for 4WD with High Road or Value Pack.

Britz and maui state that vehicles must be collected or returned at least an hour before the depot closes. Mighty’s Hobart page gives a daily cutoff, so arrange a Sunday collection in advance rather than assuming the branch offers ordinary walk-in service. The booking confirmation should set the appointment for your rental.

Britz and maui say customer parking is unavailable within the depot grounds. maui identifies nearby Airport Undercover Parking at 94 Kennedy Drive, Cambridge, about 3.1 km away. From central Hobart, maui lists the depot as 18.8 km away and recommends arranging a taxi or rideshare because it does not provide a city transfer.

Fees and one-way hire

The official Australian fee schedules list a Hobart pickup fee of A$125 for pickups through 31 March 2027 and A$130 from 1 April 2027. The published one-way schedule lists A$200 for routes within its first group: Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart and Adelaide. A second group covers itineraries involving Darwin, Broome, Alice Springs or Perth, at A$300. From 1 April 2027, those listed amounts rise to A$205 and A$310 respectively.

These are separate charges. The published schedule groups locations rather than spelling out every origin-and-destination pair, so use the route-specific amount shown in the quote. Do not assume a particular one-way trip qualifies for a fee category until the booking confirms it.

Published Hobart and fee terms do not state standard excess or liability deposits for the three brands, mileage allowances or child-restraint terms. These charges and conditions depend on the quote or rental agreement; read the terms for your vehicle and dates.

Ferry and island travel rules

A ferry crossing to an island needs separate approval under the rental rules. Britz says 2WD campers may travel to islands reached by ferry only with permission from On-Road Assist. Its road-restrictions information names Bruny Island as requiring permission and says MightyLITE vehicles are not permitted there. Britz lists 4WD travel to ferry-accessed islands and Tasmania as restricted, requiring permission and travel plans to be nominated at pickup. Travelling to restricted areas without permission can affect liability cover.

maui and Mighty also classify ferry-accessed islands as restricted areas that require permission. Before booking a ferry, get written approval for the specific vehicle and route; each vehicle type needs its own approval.

For the Spirit of Tasmania crossing from Victoria, Britz and maui’s Hobart guidance says to book the ferry directly and provide the campervan’s length. The ferry arrives at Devonport, about a three-and-a-half-hour drive from Hobart. Obtain separate approval from the rental company for the specific vehicle to travel on the ferry.
